Sony might have some financial trouble but things might be looking up.

The PlayStation Network has apparently broken sales records two quarters in a row. PlayStation Plus has also been on the rise. Sony claims that more than 2 million users are subscribers and after their E3 2012 press conference subscriptions nearly doubled. ”This is a nice weapon in our arsenal that we’ll be utilizing and it’s just a great value for a consumer that’s coming in.” says John Koller (VP PlayStation Home and handhelds) “If you look at a consumer that’s coming in year 6 or year 7…you could call them a later adopter and giving them an instant game collection, which is what PlayStation Plus provides, has really proven to be successful. So this is going to be a very important part of what we do here over the next few months. You’ll see it at holiday. You’ll see it even beyond that with various integration into our ecosystem.”

Sony still has a long way to go since they announced they lost close to half a billion dollars, but since Kaz Harai took the seat as CEO of Sony, the company has made some sweeping changes for the better. Unfortunately many jobs were cut in this process, but if all goes well Sony may get back on track sooner then expected.
