New Ghostbusters Game Coming to Smartphones James Pungello December 5, 2012 Mobile Sony has announced today that a new smartphone game based on the Ghostbusters franchise will be coming in early 2013. Some early info and screenhots have been revealed and you can check it out below. Ghostbusters will be a freemium smartphone game from Beeline Interactive that will put players in the role of a fledgling Ghostbusters franchisee that must step up to the plate when New York is once again infested with malicious spirits. The game will allow players to capture ghosts, run experiments, and collect different kinds of slime to upgrade their gear. Upgraded gear will allow for higher paying jobs and more prestige. The game will also feature the ability to upgrade your employee roster and create a crack team of paranormal investigators and eliminators. Two new screenshots have been released and you can check them out below. The screenshots show off some familiar equipment and some new gadgets. The Proton Packs and Ghost Traps are in both screens and in the library battle Peter seems to be using a Slime Blower from “Ghostbusters 2.” However, Egon appears to be using a new gadget that we haven’t seen before in the Ghostbusters franchise. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what it is. As a Ghostbusters fan I am excited (even though I don’t have a Smartphone), however the lack of Winston and the “no ghost” patches on both arms concerns me just a bit. I doubt that Winston won’t be in the game but it is always a bit alarming when he isn’t there because he is often overlooked. Ghostbusters is set to hit the market in early 2013 and we’ll have more news as it comes in.
