Star Trek: The Video Game is set to be released on April 26th and will take players on an adventure in between the events of the 2009 Star Trek movie and the new Star Trek movie, set to premiere this May. Playing as Kirk and Spock players will take on the Gorn, an alien race that was featured in an episode of the original Star Trek television series entitled “Arena.” The game allows the developers the unique opportunity to explore areas of the iconic starship Enterprise that aren’t featured prominently in any Star Trek television shows or movies. Areas of the ship like the turbolift shafts, engineering decks, and officer’s quarters will be featured in the game along with the familiar areas like the bridge, transporter room, and more. Brian Miller, senior vice president of Paramount Pictures and executive producer of Star Trek: The Video Game had this to say “One of the great joys of video games is the opportunity to take audiences to places that are only hinted at in traditional film and TV projects. Giving gamers the opportunity to explore the U.S.S.Enterprise is one of the more exciting aspects of our video game and one that we can’t wait to share with Star Trek fans and gamers worldwide.” The game will be released to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on April 26th.
