Borderlands 2 Writer “Apologizes” For Memes

Borderlands 2 Writer “Apologizes” For Memes

Last year’s sequel to sleeper hit Borderlands was somewhat infamous for its use of referential humor. Response to its release involved a lot of screenshots of the game showing (albeit cherry picked) heavy use of memes.

Yup they went there.

Yup, they went there.

Yesterday Anthony Burch, the lead writer for Borderlands 2, posted a tweet complaining that Far Cry 3 got nominated for a writing BAFTA. He was promptly met with harsh reproach as he was told that the writing in his game was less than stellar in places and wasn’t even all his writing. The post and its responses can be seen here:

Mr Burch, for what it’s worth I love your writing. It was fun to listen to the dialogue even though it was not easy to do with the dialogue among bullets, but you take the good with the bad.

Good stuff. Peace & Good Gaming!
