At E3, Microsoft confirmed that it would be implementing a scheme which would reward its Gold members with free titles (“Games with Gold” program). Since then Microsoft has released Fable III for free as an exclusive offer in June.
Microsoft has confirmed that the next title in the scheme will be none other than Ubisoft’s critically-acclaimed Assassin’s Creed II (this was a title confirmed at E3 along with Halo 3). Normally 1600 Microsoft Points, Assassin’s Creed II can be downloaded on Xbox 360 for free by Xbox Live Gold members between July 16 and July 31. The game is yours to keep once it is download.
Currently Defense Grid: The Awakening is free for Gold members until the 15 July.
The company left a message on their website in which they stated: “As a special thanks to the Xbox Live Gold community, the “Games with Gold” program gives Xbox Live Gold members two free games to keep each month. “Defense Grid: The Awakening” and “Assassin’s Creed II” were the first pair of games announced for the month of July. And, “Fable 3” was a special bonus game available in June. We’ll have more details about upcoming additional titles in the near future.”
